The Australian Government Digital ID System provides a secure, convenient and voluntary way for individuals to verify their ID online to access services. This page is where entities can find the information they need to understand and apply to join our system.
Eligibility to participate
Participation in the Australian Government Digital ID System
From December 2024, commonwealth, state and territory entities can apply to the Digital ID Regulator for approval to participate in AGDIS. Private entities will be able to apply the Digital ID Regulator from December 2026.
To be involved in testing
Testing your entities ability to participate is open to the private sector. However, they will still need to wait until December 2026 to participate within AGDIS.
